 最近一段时间，大家的注意力几乎都集中在Windows 7 RC上，同时也忽略了Windows 7的服务器版本，Windows Server 2008 R2，那么，在R2中，到底有哪些改进呢？

其实，Windows Server 2008 R2并不只是改进了性能这么简单，正如其名一样，Windows Server 2008是在其前任基础上的良好转变。RC版本的Windows Server 2008 R2更是带来了一系列的新功能，也修复了很多Bug。

Hyper-V改进

Hyper-V，大家都熟悉吧？微软推出的虚拟平台。微软最初是在Windows Server 2008中引入Hyper-V的，同年发布了Hyper-V 1.0。正式版的Hyper-V 1.0将在本月晚些时候的SP2中提供。

而Hyper 2.0，则是Windows Server 2008 R2中的新特性，包括期待已久的在线迁移功能。同时，还加入了d Virtual Machine Queue (VMQ)，虚拟机序列等一系列新功能。

性能和扩展性

Windows Server 2008 R2将支持的逻辑处理器数目从64个激增为了256个。同时，据Windows Server 2008部门主管Bill Karagounis称，“我们已经在扩展性上做了很多努力，比如：NUMA支持的改进。”

Windows Server 2008 R2还能够大大节约能源的使用。同时，在内存占用上也有不小的改进。Windows Server 2008的空闲时内存占用在250M左右，Windows Server 2008为150MB，而到Windows Server 2008 R2时就只有105MB了。

最后，WAN（广域网）内文件传输性能也有重大提升，上传速度提高20%，下载速度提供47%。

发布日期

微软已经确认，Windows 7和Windows Server 2008 R2都将在今年年内发布。“正如你所预料的一样，Windows Server 2008 R2将会在今年下半年发布。”

不过，值得注意的是，Windows Server 2008 R2将只提供64位版本。
