 此前，为了满足某些不想更新SP服务包的XP和Vista用户的需求，微软发布了SP服务包阻止工具，安装后，用户都不会收到自动更新有关SP1和SP3的提醒。而有效期，往往是SP服务包发布后一年内。而今日，微软Windows官方博客发表文章提醒这些用户此工具也即将到期了。到期时间为：

    *  Windows Vista SP1: 2009年4月28日
    * Windows XP SP3: 2009年5月19日

在此日期后，用户将会通过Windows Update自动更新XP SP3和Vista SP1。
