顾名思义Spybot Search and Destroy是专门用来清理Spyware的工具。到目前为止，他已经可以检测一万多种Spyware，并对其中的一千多种进行免疫处理。可以说是杀毒软件的一个强有力的补充。而且这个软件是完全免费的。可以在Server级别的操作系统上使用。
除了具有搜索间谍软件功能外，SpyBot还可以检查系统问题(发生故障的Uninstall信息、毁坏的链接等)以及历史记录列表。新的检索引擎将更有效的识别那些系统中的无用插件。

Spybot - Search & Destroy can detect and remove spyware of different kinds from your computer. Spyware is a relatively new kind of threat that common anti-virus applications do not yet cover. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you didn't intentionally install, if your browser crashes, or if you browser start page has changed without your knowing, you most probably have spyware. But even if you don't see anything, you may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging that is silently tracking your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile of you that will be sold to advertisement companies.
Spybot-S&D can also clean usage tracks, an interesting function if you share your computer with other users and don't want them to see what you worked on. And for professional users, it allows to fix some registry inconsistencies and extended reports. Spybot-S&D can start in two modes: Easy mode for new users who want just the basic features, and Advanced mode for professional users and those who want more control. Both modes are available in the free version.
