　　Vista之家 译自BetaNews：美国在线在周二（3月27日）发布了他的即时通讯工具AIM的6.1最终版，完全支持最新版的Windows Vista，同时，美国在线还发布了他们的AOL Web Mail的beta版本，就是网上邮局，用户可以像Gmail那样，在网上的邮局系统里面就可以即时通讯。

　　AIM6.1已经测试数月，证明完全兼容于Windows Vista，就像国内的腾讯QQ一样，AIM 6.1 也终于支持了发布离线消息的功能。即使对方不在线，也能在上线时收到你所发布的消息。同时，在网页收发邮件的窗口右侧，也列出了你的在线好友。和Google的Gmail貌似有的一拼。

AIM Now for Vista, AOL Web Mail

AOL on Wednesday released the final version of AIM 6.1, which primarily brings support for Windows Vista, as well as announcing a new beta of AOL Web Mail that integrates AIM. Users will be able to conduct AIM conversations directly from their Web-based AOL Mail interface.

AIM 6.1 has been in beta testing for a number of months and is fully compatible with Vista, which launched at the end of January. Other new features in the update include the ability to send an offline IM or SMS message when a buddy signs off AIM, and new Buddy List docking and color picker options.

With AIM 6.1, users can also view their linked AOL accounts at the top of the Buddy List and set individual away messages and invisibility options for each linked screen name.

Following in the footsteps of Google with its Gmail service, AOL plans to bring instant messaging directly to its "Cayman" webmail client, currently in beta testing. Although AOL Web Mail has featured some support for AIM since 2004, the update means users can participate in full chats from within their Web browser.

A Buddy List on the right side of AOL Web Mail highlights frequent contacts and lets users choose between sending a message via e-mail or AIM. The updated beta of Cayman is expected to reach testers in the coming weeks, although AOL has not said when it will be rolled out to all users.
